Philippians 1:6

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion ….

Lord, my story isn’t over yet,

I know.

I have lifetimes to live.

I have sunsets to mourn
and Sunday morning sunrises

to watch with hope
while singing hymns of praise.

From my first breath,
from the moment I first felt

the touch of Your Spirit
begin to work and move
through me, warming my heart,

I have known—
I have believed—
I have walked with faith

and prayed, not that You would do
good things for me,

but that You would do
good things through me,

that You would allow me to share
Your story with others

and to quench their thirst
with a cup that never needs refilling,
a cup of Your Living Water.

This is my purpose.
This is my story.
This is my life’s work

to share Your story, Lord,

Your tale of redemption
and sacrifice,

of death and resurrection,
of forgiveness and absolution,

of hope and promise,
of everlasting and unconditional

LOVE.

This is the good work
You began in me.

And I have no doubt
You will see it
to completion.

Amen.
